Latest news - Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC console release date announced
After the iconic Nurburgring Nordschleife was brought to ACC, Kunos Simulazioni has confirmed that console players can tackle the famous Green Hell soon, with the Nurburgring 24hr DLC Pack arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 2.
Featuring a combination of both the Nordschleife and GP-Strecke circuits, the Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race is a true test of racing ability.
Tackling the Green Hell is tough enough under daylight, never mind under the cover of darkness, so players will be feeling the pressure the next time they hop behind the wheel.
Assetto Corsa Competizione Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC
First opened in 1927, Nurburgring Nordschleife is renowned as one of the scariest racetracks in the world. With over 170 corners, numerous elevation changes, and high-speed straights, it’s no wonder it’s nicknamed the Green Hell.
Since its appearance in Project Gotham Racing 2, the Nordschleife has become a staple circuit in racing games, pushing players' skills to the limit.
The Green Hell was recently added to Forza Motorsport and has been available in Gran Turismo 7 and rFactor 2 for years. It’s also part of the original Assetto Corsa’s track list, yet it hasn’t featured in Assetto Corsa Competizione.
This is because Assetto Corsa Competizione is the official game of the GT World Challenge, featuring GT2, GT3, and GT4 cars as well as laser-scanned tracks from the official championship.
Until recently, the Nurburgring wasn’t part of the GT World Challenge racing calendar. That’s now changed, with the 24h Nurburgring joining the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli round in the 2024 season.
This has given Kunos Simulazioni the green light to add the Nurburgring Nordschleife to Assetto Corsa Competizione. But when can players hit the ‘Ring?
Release date
First teased last November, the Assetto Corsa Competizione Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC was relesaed on Steam on 1 April 2024. The console release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will follow on May 2 2024.
How much will the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC cost?
The Steam page isn’t live at the time of writing, so it’s not clear how much the Nurburgring Nordschleife DLC will cost. Kunos Simulazioni has yet to reveal pricing details or if the pack includes any cars.
Going by other DLC packs, we expect it will cost around £9.99 - £14.99.
Will the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC come to consoles?
Initially, the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC was only be available on PC, but what about console players? Happily, Kunos Simulazioni has confirmed the Nurburgring 24hr Pack will arrive on consoles just over a month later than PC.
Console players have been used to waiting several months for Assetto Corsa Competizione's DLC packs to arrive after the initial PC release, but the gaps are starting to narrow.
After releasing on PC at the end of January this year, the recent GT2 Pack DLC landed on consoles on 27 February. This was earlier than expected, with previous DLC packs arriving on consoles several months later. The Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC will continue this trend, with the console release date set for May 2 2024 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
