Gran Turismo update 1.44 everything you need to know

The wait for Gran Turismo 7's March update is over. GT7's third update of 2024 so far, update 1.44 is out now, bringing new cars, new events, and much more.

We've everything you need to know about Gran Turismo 7 update 1.44.

Latest news - Update 1.44 out now

Just in time for the Easter break, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.44 is out now. March's update brings three new cars to drive including the legendary Toyota GT-One, Lamborghini Urus and Audi R8 V10 plus.

That's not all as it also includes three new race events, a new Menu Book, and a Scapes location. For more details, check out the patch notes.

New cars

Gran Turismo 7 update 1.44 will add three new cars. So far, every GT7 update this year has included three cars, so this could be the new standard after previous updates added as many as five cars.

Polyphony has confirmed the car lineup for update 1.44, and it includes the return of a legend.

Toyota GT-One

The fan-favourite Toyota GT-One headlines the update. First seen in Gran Turismo 2, the GT-One is a Gran Turismo staple that fans have been requesting since GT7 launched. It hasn't featured in a GT game since Gran Turismo 6 over ten years ago.

Built as a homologation special, the GT-One competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998 and 1999, but it wasn't victorious. GT7's GT-One is based on the 1998 #3 car and is sold in the Legends Car Dealership.

Lamborghini Urus

Despite SUVs dominating the car industry, GT7 has ignored this segment. That now changed with the arrival of the Lamborghini Urus in update 1.44.

Thanks to its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, the Urus is one of the fastest-production SUVs in the world.

GT7's Urus is based on the original 2018 model rather than the 2022 facelift or hardcore Performante variant.

This marks the Urus's Gran Turismo debut after it featured prominently in Forza Horizon 5 and The Crew Motorfest. A Lamborghini SUV may sound sacrilegious, but the gamble has paid off for Lamborghini, as it continues to be the Italian manufacturer's best-selling model by a huge margin.

Audi R8 V10

The third and final car is the second-generation Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe, which is powered by Audi's 5.2-litre V10 engine.

It joins the original R8 in GT7, so both generations of Audi's mid-engine sports car will be represented.

New Menu Books and events

Along with the new cars, update 1.44 will add a new GT Café Menu Book. Extra Menu 37 tasks you to collect three Jaguars. World Circuits will also be updated with the following three new events:

  • European Clubman Cup 600
Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A Reverse
  • Schwarzwald League
    High Speed Ring Reverse
  • World Touring Car 900
24 Heures du Mans race track

There is also a new Fukushima Scape location, and, unexpectedly, 26 stickers for the livery editor based on the upcoming Japanese anime Highspeed Etoile.

Sadly, we won’t be getting any new circuits in update 1.44. The last new track was the Lakeshore snow circuit included in Spec II last November, but we haven’t had a new road circuit to race on for over a year since Grand Valley returned last February.
